Supporting Children

here in Seattle and around the world…

  • Our half-day preschool instructors take the safety of all children very seriously. From masking to hand washing to teaching children to care for others’ boundaries, we do our best to provide a safe and engaging environment for children.

  • Engaging one another in play is core to social and psychological development in children. Children play outside, in our large play room, and engage in projects in their age-based classrooms.

  • Because LRW is the church’s preschool, we prize the spiritual development of the children in our care. We want every child to know they are precious and loved and that they are called to care for the earth, other people, and themselves. Even though the preschool is part of our church, we value the spiritual traditions of all children, including those who belong to families that practice no religion or spiritual practices.

In connection with the South Congo Episcopal Area of the UMC, the Pacific Northwest Conference of the UMC supports two orphanages, one for boys and one for girls.

QAUMC participates in this connection by sponsoring 3 girls every year. This partnership has been in place for almost 2 decades, almost since the beginning of the orphanages.
